Tempus

Tempus (Trans-European Mobility Scheme for University Studies) is a trans-European cooperation programme for the development of higher education in the Partner Countries and their balanced cooperation with the European Union Member States. Its mission is the restructuring of the higher education systems of Central and Eastern Europe (Phare), the New Independent States of the former Soviet Union and Mongolia and their adjustment to a market economy.

The implementation of the third phase of the Tempus Programme, 2000-2006, started in 2002 and it mainly concerns the creation of consortia of trans-university cooperation among Institutions of the Member States and Partner Countries.

The National Coordination Unit for our country is the National Youth Foundation.
