Bequests
Bequests are a special form of scholarship. Well-to-do individuals make available all or part of their assets to support pupils and students at all levels of education from primary school right up to preparation of doctoral theses. Nonetheless, the majority of bequests are allocated for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Each bequest defines the place of studies and lays down the general and specific conditions under which the scholarship may be obtained, which is either granted after the necessary supporting documents are submitted or after examinations in specific subjects.
More information on bequests is available from the site of the General Secretariat for Youth. Interested parties can also contact the Scholarships and Bequests Department of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs (15 Mitropoleos St., Athens, Tel.: +30-210-3246057) in order to obtain more information and the relevant list of bequests.
