On a european level

In the context of the Leonardo da Vinci programme, EKEP, the National Resource Centre for Vocational Guidance in Greece, is involved with the collection, evaluation, translation and dissemination of information that is of interest to Greek and other European citizens in search of education/training or occupation pathways and counselling services, and to guidance practitioners offering related services.

In cooperation with national entities, the European Commission created the Portal on Learning Opportunities Throughout the European Space (PLOTEUS). In particular, the European Commission (DG Education and Culture) entrusted the set up of the Portal project to the Euroguidance Network. This Portal is a most significant means to promote mobility for education and training purposes in Europe. The role of EKEP in this project was to add links to PLOTEUS for education/training opportunities in Greece, as well as other information for the benefit of European citizens in search of education and job opportunities in our country.

Through its participation in the Euroguidance Network, EKEP promotes actions to upgrade the information networks in Greece, and in the E.U., thus securing communication and cooperation with counterpart NRCVGs to establish common policies and actions in the field of Counselling & Vocational Guidance. Also, EKEP encourages study visits of its staff to various European countries and participates in all congresses organized by the European Commission for the coordination of the Euroguidance Network, thus making a significant contribution to the design of the Network’s scope and efficiency.

Finally, EKEP welcomes delegations from peer NRCVGs (members of the Euroguidance Network) of the E.U. and is pleased to respond to information requests from individuals and entities established in other European countries about education and training, recognition of diplomas and employment in Greece.
