  • Stages in the E.U.

  • The European Commission offers two stages for new University graduates of the E.U. member states and for some citizens of third countries. The said stages are about getting professional experience in one of the Commission’s departments and start on March 1st and October 1st every year.

  • Researchers and Trainers’ mobility

  • Europe promotes the interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange of know-how of science, economics, technology faculties as well as of some issues of humanitarian and social sciences by adopting the message “training in research through research” and by exploiting mobility with activities aiming at the accession of new scientists to new community research networks or to large research centers.

The new scientists benefit from a wide range of different kinds of scholarships by having the opportunity to write a part of their PHD thesis or continue their post-doctoral studies outside their country’s borders.

Most of the community Research and Technological Development (RTD) programs offer training opportunities through research with the granting of the “MARIE CURIE” scholarships, within whose framework, new researchers either propose to the Commission their own research plan, or research institutes or other bodies offer high level training posts to new European researchers. Moreover, “return scholarships” are offered to the “MARIE CURIE” researchers - scholarship receptors who have stayed abroad in order to continue their work back in their countries.

Within the framework of joint ventures and networks established by community Research and Technological Development (RTD) programs (multi corporate and multinational RTD plans with joint expenses), the collaborating laboratories provide researchers with training and mobility opportunities either through temporary recruitment of researchers especially of new ones (only for the program’s duration) or through researchers’ exchanges.

  • Mobility Programs in Greece

  • The Mobility Programs are financed by the European Union within the framework of the Operational Program for Education and Initial Vocational Training (EPEAEK) and are implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs as well as the National Youth Foundation, which has undertaken the technical support and management of the EU associated programs.

These programs promote the connection between the Greek educational system and the educational systems of E.U. Member States and apply to Greek teachers and students of Secondary Education with the aim to familiarize them with European labour market and offered employment opportunities.
