International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance
The International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance - I.A.E.V.G. - has members in around 60 countries.
Its objective is to promote service provision by skilled, accredited professionals so as to make it easier for persons of any age to make decisions and choices based on their own expectations, their level of readiness to enter the labour market, ensuring that they are fit to cope with the special circumstances in each case.
The Association lays down rules relating to professional good practice while providing counselling and vocational guidance services. Moreover, it is interested in establishing internationally accredited qualifications that vocational guidance counsellors should have in order to ensure the quality of services provided.
Furthermore, the Association organizes conferences, and publishes a newsletter and a journal entitled the "International Journal for Educational and Vocational Guidance". Lastly, in collaboration with Canada, it has developed a website with the aim of providing information and encouraging the professional development of vocational guidance counsellors.
